Paddy (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel)

Lumbosacral disease and spondylosis

Paddy has been having regular physiotherapy for about 15 months. He is in his senior years and physiotherapy helps manage his pain, neurological function, and mobility.

Modalities used: Laser, massage, exercise therapy.

Milly (Springer x Collie)

Luxating patella

Milly came for physiotherapy following surgery for a luxating patella. She made a remarkable recovery and we also worked on exercises to help prevent the other patella from following a similar fate.

Modalities used: Laser, Pulsed Magnetic Field Therapy, active range of motion, exercise therapy, exercise prescription.

Bella (Miniature Dachshund)

Intervertebal disc disease

Bella had surgery for a grade 4 disc extrusion and subsequently had a lot of physiotherapy. She took a long time to rehab and suffered two relapses in the months following surgery. She is now still ever so slightly wobbly, but running around, having lots of snuggles, and generally living her best life!

Modalities used: Laser, Pulsed Magnetic Field Therapy, proprioceptive work, massage, passive range of motion, exercise therapy, husbandry/home changes.

Willow (DSH Cat)

Pan-tarsal athrodesis surgery

Willow had a catastrophic achilles tendon rupture and needed surgery to fuse her ankle bone. She was on crate rest for 13 weeks and we did weekly physiotherapy to help her heal, build up strength again, and adapt to her new way of walking.

Modalities used: Laser, Pulsed Magnetic Field Therapy, active range of motion, exercise therapy, exercise prescription.

What Owners Say...

We used Caroline, The Pet Physio to help rehab our dog Milly's rear leg after major surgery. Milly adored Caroline and worked hard for her. Caroline put Milly at ease and took all the time required at each session to treat her even when Milly was a bit wriggly; there was never a feeling of any time constraint. Milly is now back at agility and couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend Caroline as she is very knowledgeable, great at her job and fantastic value. We will certainly use her services again in the future and highly recommend her.

Caroline was one of our first points of contact after our six year old dalmatian Murphy, had a Spinal Stroke, and was unable to use his back legs. Caroline helped with different techniques to stimulate some movement in his back legs while also giving him physio on the front legs as they were taking all the pressure.Caroline also helped us with the paperwork side of things to help us apply for some wheels from Winston Wheels Charity to able Murphy to gain some of his freedom back. We would like to Thank Caroline for the help and support she gave us at a very difficult time, and would not hesitate to use her services again.

Brodie - Bernese Mountain Dog

Elbow dysplasia, ulna osteotomy hip dysplasia

Brodie had a lot of dysplasia and surgery to help with one of the affected joints. I saw him for post-surgical rehab.

Modalities used: Laser, Pulsed Magnetic Field Therapy, massage, exercise therapy, exercise prescription, husbandry/home changes.

Murphy (Dalmation)

Fibrocartilaginous Embolism

Murphy suddenly lost the use of his back legs and was diagnosed with an FCE. We did intensive physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to try to allow Murphy's neurological system to restart functioning, but after several months it became clear that he would sadly never walk again. However, I helped his owners get a wheelchair from a charity and he is now zooming about the house!

Modalities used: Laser, Pulsed Magnetic Field Therapy, Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, massage, passive range of motion, exercise prescription.

Tam (Flat coat retriever)

Osteoarthritis

Tam had been showing signs of slowing down, including struggling to get up from resting and limping. Her owner contacted me to see if I could help. I visited her weekly to provide physiotherapy that would help ease pain, promote mobility; and enhance her quality of life.

Modalities used: Laser, massage, exercise therapy, husbandry/home changes.

Madge (Bulldog)

Cruciate ligament disease and surgery

I saw Madge following surgery and helped her to heal, regain muscle mass and strength; and also helped her owners make change to help prevent osteoarthritis and the other cruciate ligament also degrading.

Modalities used: Laser, active range of motion, massage, exercise therapy, exercise prescription, husbandry/home changes.

Caroline has worked wonders with our miniature dachshund who recently needed back surgery for a slipped disc. Thank you so much, we don't know what we would have done without your support!

Caroline is giving ongoing treatment to our flatcoat, Tam, who is suffering from osteoarthritis. Her treatment has shown a marked improvement in Tam’s movements. We would thoroughly recommend her.
